The students will be assessed informally based on the formation of the letters we are working on each day.Class Experience
During this 8 lesson class, students will learn how to write each letter of the alphabet, both capital and lower case. We will work on letter formation and spacing. We will then go on to use those letters in words. Each lesson will include a demonstration as well as time to practice. Students will be required to spend time between classes practicing what they have learned to help them form the letters correctly. The main focus of this class will be the formation and spacing of cursive writing. Each student will be encouraged to show their work throughout the lesson in order to be given specific feedback. The class will follow the following format: Greetings Getting to know each other/Tell me one great thing about your week Demonstration of the letters we are working on Practice time Feedback time Revision time Students will be encouraged to talk about what went well with their writing. My teaching style is informal. I will do a demonstration of how to form each of the letters we are working on for the week. Then, I will ask students to share their work as they practice so that feedback can be given. Students will get to interact with me as well as with other students throughout the lesson. There is no prior knowledge or experience needed as this is a class for beginning handwriting. ***I do not cancel classes for low enrollments.
