In this course, students will practice their deciphering skills to solve math story problems. Each week, we will meet and solve a variety of story problems that require the use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division to find the answer. Students will learn about keywords that signal which of the operations will be required, as well as receive some review on how to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems. A homework sheet will also be provided for...
Students will improve their analysis skills of math story problems.
A one-page, two-sided homework sheet will be provided for the students to complete after the weekly meetings.
1 file available upon enrollmentA one-page handout listing the steps for solving math problems will be posted in the classroom as a guide for students. A one-page, double-sided homework sheet will be provided each week after the weekly class meeting.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Student progression will be assessed through the homework and will be reported back to the parent.
