In this 8-week Common Core math class for grades 6-8, students will master key math concepts, from ratios and fractions to algebraic equations and geometry. Each lesson is designed to build upon the previous, ensuring students grasp foundational math skills that prepare them for higher-level math.

What will be taught?
We will cover critical math topics including:
Ratios, proportions, and percentages
Expressions, equations, and functions
Geometry basics, including area, volume, and angles
Working with integers and the number system
Data analysis and statistics

How is the class structured?
This class meets four times per week for 45-minute sessions, blending interactive lessons with collaborative practice. Each session will begin with a warm-up review, followed by a focused lesson, hands-on problem-solving, and optional homework to reinforce the concepts covered.

Hello! I'm Math Teacher Celia, a dedicated middle school math teacher and the creator of the Logical L.E.A.P. Math Method. With over a decade of experience in the field of education, I reside in Hawaii and hold degrees from Illinois State University, Olivet Nazarene University, and Western Governors University. My academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Business and two Master’s degrees in Teaching and Special Education, which equip me with a diverse and robust educational approach.

Since the beginning of my career fresh out of graduate school in 2009, I have been passionately committed to teaching math. My enthusiasm for math education has helped me avoid the common pitfalls of teacher burnout, allowing me to continually thrive in my profession. I have a proven track record of improving student performance, exemplified by an increase in test scores from 83% to 87% in my first year of teaching, with the majority of students meeting or exceeding the Common Core math standards.

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted educational norms, raising serious concerns among parents about their children’s academic progress. Recognizing the challenges posed by remote learning and the potential learning losses during this period, I have developed specialized online Common Core Math courses for middle schoolers. These courses are designed to ensure that your child not only catches up but excels in their math education.
