This course will be an ongoing weekly class where we will cover different breeds of species of pet/livestock animals. We will use this format for a fun exploration of form and function of biology in animals.We will look at their: -name -origin -uses -where they are common -health - "Petability" , does this animal make a good pet We will cover a cat, a dog, a reptile, a bird, and a fish each class, with a random species of livestock added. Students will understand the effect people have had on animal species over time. Students will be able to explain how the function of an animals design can be better then others. Students will analyze whether an animal is an appropriate pet, and apply decision making principles. Students will communicate the advantages and disadvantages for different species.
I have been an Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Equine Science, and Small Animal Science teacher for almost a decade.
