Boy: Tale of Childhood, Roald Dahl Literature Book Club
In this Dahl literature class we learn about conjunctions, conjugations, and more. This book club is full of descriptive writing, autobiographies, and silly revenge plots. What would you pack in your tuck box? What's the great mouse plot?

In Boy: Tales of Childhood, Roald Dahl tells the story of his own early days, from his birth in Wales to his years at boarding school in England. For those of you familiar with my other Roald Dahl book clubs, this is more advanced with heavy literary components. Learners should be comfortable with reading and writing at a 3rd grade level. Lesson 1: Character Descriptions We will learn to pair unexpected nouns and adjectives and write character descriptions. Learners will read 5 chapters...
This class is taught in English.
This class has specific literary objectives. Learns will discover noun and adjective pairings and other creative writing techniques. We will look at verb conjugations as well as complex sentences and the use of conjunctions.
I have been teaching for over 15 years. My bachelors degree is in English Literature and I have a teaching certificate from Cambridge (CELTA).
Every class will have a writing assignment for homework.
I will send the worksheets before each lesson. Please print these prior to class. Learners will want some scissors for lesson 1 as well. All lessons require a pen or pencil and paper.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
For lesson 1 there are some cards that need to be cut out. Parent super vison may be required for use of scissors, or cards can be cut out prior to class.
