Private Reading and Writing Tutoring With a Certified Reading Specialist 1-1

The content will be determined based on student need and parent request.  An informal reading and/or writing assessment will be used to guide my instruction.  I like to utilize content that students like.  I use a mix of non-fiction and fiction reading passages.

I tend to use a teach, model and release style of teaching.  A mini-lesson will be taught, a task will be modeled by the teacher and the student will then do the task with guidance from the teacher.    

Writing instruction will include a mini writing lesson and a larger writing piece for older students to work on. Younger students will work through writing with academic vocabulary and a session mini lesson. If you are wanting something unique, please reach out before booking a session. 

I can assist with one time homework assignments. I do request that materials are provided to me three days or earlier prior to our meeting time. 

Students will work with me 1-1 and will be able to ask questions, practice and interact with the instructor.

We will work at your student's level.  The first session may only be 30 minutes due to testing and the need to develop appropriate curriculum. 

If you want to reserve your time weekly then they need to choose the “when I cancel” option upon enrollment. A one-time lessons will not reserve your time beyond that date.
