Bonjour! My name is Laura. I teach the class in French and I do translate as needed to help the learners to understand and memorize what they are learning.  The class is for children from 7 to 11 years old. All are welcome but taking Loustics 2 before is recommended. We will read, listen to audio extracts, we will write sentences, work on paragraphs and conjugation, and sometimes have projects to create!  The class is structured and part of a yearlong curriculum with new French things to learn every week. I am a fun teacher, I have a lot of patience, and I like to encourage the students to speak. Les Loustics 3 Unit 1 summary: 

Welcome, everyone! I am looking forward to meeting you all and having fun while teaching to be fluent in French.

Week 1: Lesson 1: D'où reviennent-ils? From where are they coming back? In the "method book". We will learn about public transportation, and vacation time. We will listen, show, look, answer, and read a short paragraph. In the workbook, we fill in the various exercises in reference to lesson 1. We will read and write the time and numbers. 

Week 2: Lesson 2: Peux-tu décrire le physique de quelqu'un? Can you describe someone? We will work with our "Method book" on "description" vocabulary, on the "ressembler verb". Listen to an audio extract and answers the questions. How to use Qui and the variants. We will read a few sentences and correct them. In the workbook, we fill in the various exercises in reference to lesson 2. We will listen, read and write in our book. We will do a crossword and do an "autodictée".

Week 3: Lesson 3: Peux-tu décrire le caractère de quelqu'un? Can you describe someone's personality? We will listen to a description of someone and try to identify who is it. Review of "Who" and the "Etre verb" in the present tense. We will work on our reading skills and read a paragraph about someone describing someone! In the workbook, we fill in the various exercises in reference to lesson 3. We will read and write. We will use our stickers and put sentences in the right order.

Week 4: Lesson 4: "Dis-moi" pages. Create full sentences using opposites. Aller/Venir verbs use. Read and found who is being described. Audio, recognition exercises.  In the workbook, we fill in the various exercises in reference to lesson 4. 

Week 5: Lesson 5: "Je découvre". Reading and understanding. "Qu'est-ce que c'est?". In the workbook, exercises in reference to our lesson 5.

Week 6: Lesson 6: Workbook review and catch-up. Questions and answers session. 

Week 7: Lesson 7: Projet "Fabriquer la carte mental".

Week 8: Lesson 8: "Je révise". Review of the entire unit.
