Beginner Level
What topics will be covered? We will start from the beginning of the book till the end of page 23. We will learn about finger numbers, quarter notes, double bar lines, half notes, whole notes, and the repeat sign. The last piece we will work on will be Old McDonald had a song (a fun version of the traditional Old McDonald) What is my teaching style and how will I teach? I will be explaining a new subject and demonstrate it on my piano then ask every student to try out and play. There will be weekly assignments. I usually encourage students to review our class practices and lessons 3 to 4 times during the week to understand the subject better. This will help the student understand and learn the new subject much easier. A printable practice planner will be provided to each student to keep track of their practice during the week. How much will students get to interact with me and each other? Every student will get plenty of opportunities to participate in the class. We will have a final performance during our last session where we all get to perform for each other a piece and talk about all the things we learned.
