Beginner Clarinet Lessons

Students will learn through various lesson exercises that are included in the clarinet lessons book and will have individualized attention with the music teacher. Lessons are structured with warm-up, theory practices, and performances (playing through exercises/songs). We plan to work on proper breath control, embouchure exercises, learning notes, and clarinet fingerings.  We will focus on how to read music,  how to properly produce dynamics through the instrument as well as read and understand them, and learn time signatures. We will also work on how to play varying speeds. In order to improve, students should find time to practice each day and focus on the various techniques that were discussed in class at home in front of a mirror and use a metronome to help with tempo control.
Ideally, some knowledge of music theory is preferred not required. Students can be brand new to music and the Bb Clarinet in general. Each lesson will consist of a form of music theory along with learning specifics of the instrument iteself.
