**Due to the way this class is structured, multiple enrollments are required in order to run it. I will wait until two hours before class before transferring you to another session, to allow time for last minute enrollments!** If your child loves dinosaurs, they will enjoy this class! It goes beyond the average learning of dinosaur facts and throws in interaction, fun, problem solving, creative thinking, teamwork, and so much more! In this class, students will bring two dinosaurs to class. At the beginning of class, each student will have a chance to make their dinosaurs battle, while the other students guess who will win. This is a fun way to break the ice and allow the students to be interactive and have fun playing with their dinosaurs. After all students have had the chance to do a battle, we will then look at two dinosaurs at a time (T-Rex VS. Spinosaurus) via slide shows. Each student will have the opportunity to guess which dinosaur they believe would win in a battle. This guess will be followed up with the question "why?" to foster problem solving and creative thinking. We will discuss different aspects of the dinosaurs and their battles, with the teaching offering many opportunities for learning. We will discuss questions such as "Will the biggest dinosaur always win?" and "How can a dinosaur with no protection win?" I teach many dinosaur classes, as well as dinosaur camps, so feel free to check out my schedule if this sounds like something your child would enjoy! I love to think and teach outside the box and I always give many opportunities for talking and discussion.
Learning Goals
Students will engage in conversation with other students, building friendships and working as a team. They will learn dinosaur facts, as well as learn that there is more than meets the eye and you can't always judge the book by it's cover.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Ms.Heather! I am married to Kenny, and we have a beautiful four year old boy, Alyas! My family and I are full-time living in a travel trailer, traveling the country! I was a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher for 5+ years, have taught ESL online for 4 years to children ages 3-16 in China, and was the Director of a Developmental Day School for 3 years! I have a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Child Development from Ashford University. I absolutely love children and I have a passion for helping them learn! I believe every child is unique, and I make sure to keep this in mind during my teaching! I like to see each child's personality come out through the activity/craft, and not have everything look just like the other student's work. When working on my lessons, I think outside the box in order to make it fun and engaging for all of the students! Children tend to want to learn when they are having fun doing it. I love a challenge and I truly enjoy seeing a child overcome something they work so hard at! I am a very patient teacher and I enjoy having fun with the children while we learn! I was very shy before I started my teaching career, and what helped me break out of my shell was being silly, so I enjoy doing this with my class too! When planning my lessons, I make sure to give myself enough time to get through the whole lesson, but I also allow for flexibility, as lesson plans will not always go as planned. Children like to talk and I see nothing wrong with this, as we can learn just as much talking as we can with me teaching from the lesson itself! I like to have interactive classes, where all children are involved and enjoying themselves! If your child is shy and does not want to talk, that is okay too!
