The essay is simply a form of communication used in the academic world. By middle school, students will begin to practice writing a variety of types of essays, and by high school, students are expected to be able to write complete essays that are well organized and supported with evidence. Of course, it's not uncommon for students learning how to master the essay to feel overwhelmed, confused, or bored with writing essays. By the end of class, students will know the basic structure of a 5 paragraph essay.
I have experience teaching 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students of all abilities how to write essays.
1 file available upon enrollment- a pen or pencil - a copy of the notes template (accessible upon enrollment)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
