Class Experience

We will explore 6 fun and simple painting techniques for kids. We will be focusing on the painting process rather than the outcome and hopefully, there will be lots of opportunities for students to express themselves and spark their creativity. This challenge is all about kids experimenting, making their own decisions, and having fun with paint.

Week 1 - Watercolor flowers (We will apply wet watercolor paint on wet paper, A.K.A. Wet-On-Wet technique)
Week 2 - Dazzling Rainbow (Pointillism technique, which is a practice of applying small dots of color to a surface)
Week 3 - Messy Hair Day (We will blow wet paint with our straws)
Week 4 - Night Sky (We will apply paint with a sponge)
Week 5 - Panda Buddies (We will create cute little pandas by making potato stamps)
Week 6 - Doodle making class. (We will learn how to doodle, combining watercolors and graphics)

Note: Please see the supply list below

My main principle - there are no mistakes and wrong decisions in the creative process! Everyone, even the smallest artist, has his own path. In my classes, I will not ask students to mindlessly repeat after me. I will show them step by step video example where students can see different options, and be able to bring their personal touches to their artwork.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of different painting techniques such as pointillism, stamping, and others. During the course, they will create a masterpiece using a variety of artist's tools.

My name is Elena Galindo, and I am a children's book illustrator specializing in creating fun and whimsical digital illustrations in a playful and adorable style. I am excited to introduce myself and share a little bit about me with you.

I have been creating illustrations that bring stories to life with lively characters, cute and cheeky animals, and colorful landscapes. Children are my favorite audience, as they inspire and motivate me to create illustrations that can spark their imagination and ignite their curiosity.

In addition to creating illustrations, I also teach digital art to children. This has given me valuable insight into what children are interested in and what captures their attention. I am always looking for new ways to engage children with my illustrations

I have a bachelor’s and master's degree in Human Resources with a large portion being focused on training and development. I have also taken several art courses in painting techniques. Additionally, as a mother of two, I enjoy teaching my kids about art and languages. I show them the importance of cultural diversity and multicultural integration.

My philosophy is that everyone has the potential to be great. The importance is to guide students with fun and interactive courses to keep their focus on the task at hand.

I would love to be your paintbrush buddy and I hope to see you in my classes. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help.
