During this class students will learn about color theory, dragons and mythology, weaving, clay modeling and the garden paintings of Eduard Monet. All classes and projects will have live demonstrations with step by step instructions. Some adult support might be needed with younger students. This course is a great semester long art course for homeschoolers or students who would like to experience and try their hand at an assortment of mediums. The course is set to go according to the following schedule: Week 1 and 2 will focus on the "Oil Pastel Sunset". We will draw a tree, paint it and add oil pastel using specific color schemes. Please use the color wheel attached to this class for reference. Week 3 and 4: we will work with yarn and create weavings. Younger students should have the stick cross prepared ahead of class. Week 5 and 6: we will create a drawing of a dragon inspired by Chinese mythology. Week 7 and 8: we will work with air dry clay and watercolor to create lily pads inspired by the garden paintings of Eduard Monet. Students are expected to complete the steps started in class for the next class as homework , as well as prepare the materials, tools and supplies for the following class.
