On the October 30th class we will be traveling to my game island where we will play games to win spooky items, costumes, and other items as well.

Weekly Game Activities:
- Travel & explore islands
- Island & house tours
- Shopping at Able Sisters & Nook's Cranny
- Bell Hunting (Teacher's Island visits)
- Bug Catching
- Fishing
- Swimming to catch sea creatures and treasures
- Trading items / DIY's (a.k.a. Yard Sale)
- Meet new villagers
- Share tips, tricks, & building ideas
-"Yard Sale" where we bring and trade items.
-Mini Games: Maze Game, Treasure Hunt, Hide & Seek, Western Saloon Party, Fish Hunt, Sea Creature Hunt and more!
-Students can make up a game for their island when we visit. My students have so much fun creating a new game for us to play together.

When you travel to my island there will be bells & items available to collect and take home with you each time. Every week I also bring items for students to take home as well. We will rotate traveling to my island and to student islands.

Students are welcome to volunteer for the class to travel to their island one week to show off what they have built so far. We will enjoy bug catching, fishing, swimming to catch sea creatures, shopping as well. Students are not required to volunteer for the class to travel to their island, I will do this on a voluntary basis only.

Animal Crossing is a fun seasonal game and we will enjoy playing the game while making new friends and socialize together in a safe environment.

****IMPORTANT**** Please Read: In order to participate and hunt for treasure EACH student will need a Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing New Horizons Game, & an online membership to Nintendo Online. If you do not have an online membership you will NOT be able to fly to my island and only be able engage in conversation via the zoom classroom.

****IMPORTANT**** Prior to class:
1. Have your Nintendo Switch charged and ready to play. If you have parental controls set please be sure to enable the ability to play online so your learner can fly to my island via dodo code.

2. Check your Wi-Fi connection and sit in a room where you have a STRONG signal. If you have a poor signal while on my island it can cause a communication error and the entire island to crash and everyone will be sent back to their own island and we have to start over again. So please be sure to have a good Wi-Fi signal.

***Low battery, poor Wi-Fi signal, parental controls, etc. are things that are not in my control so please be sure to check them all PRIOR to class as I will not be able to wait and hold up the entire class while issues are resolved. Once any issues are resolved the student can join us on the island.***

3. Log into your game and the necessary tools for the week. Useful tools for class each week: ladder, vaulting pole, fishing rod, & net.

4. Be ready to travel at the beginning of class so we can have plenty of time to play together.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Sabrina Lagace. Teaching is my passion! I began my teaching career in 2006 and fell in love with teaching children to learn.

I was born and raised in Georgia and in 2002 I moved to sunny Florida where I met and married my husband. We have two amazing children whom I have homeschooled since 2012.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Business Administration.

I am a licensed teacher in the state of Florida in Elementary Education K-6 and TESOL licensed (Teaching English Speakers of Other Languages).

Since 2018 I have been teaching online ESL (English Speakers of Other Languages) to students ages 4-12, where I specialize in teaching phonics classes to young children.

I am actively involved in our homeschool community and I regularly teach history and science in our homeschool co-op.

I believe in making learning fun! I love making interactive and engaging lessons. I believe children learn best when all the senses are involved. I myself am a very visual and kinesthetic (hands-on) learner so I understand children who need multi-sensory learning. I have experience teaching the Orton-Gillingham methods in reading and spelling.

Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family, camping (more like glam-ping LOL in our camper) and crafting. My daughter and I enjoy crafting for her American Girl dolls. One of my favorite places to visit is Disney World!

I can’t wait to see you in class!

***IMPORTANT Parents/Guardians: Please note that according to Outschool policy, only the enrolled learner is allowed to attend & participate in class. Siblings, friends, neighbors, relatives, etc. are not allowed to attend & participate unless separately enrolled. You can find this policy in the Parent FAQ. Please contact me if you have questions. Thank you.***
