Class Experience

Welcome to a Fantastic Adventure in the Enchanting World of Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

REQUIRED to participate: Nintendo Online Membership, Stable Internet Connection, a Nintendo Switch, andthe game Animal Crossing New Horizons. You will need to have played enough of the game so that your island's airport is open.

Before class starts and we are all saying hello on Zoom –We need to ALREADY have our pockets and supplies ready and be at our island airports, ready to fly, so we can get as much as possible from our time in class.

During class, students will be able to visit my island and the islands of other students to play games, socialize, trade stuff, and share tips, tricks, and ideas. We will take turns going to a different student's island each week and we may play games like treasure hunt, scavenger hunt, hide-and-seek, and more! We will also celebrate themed events for the holidays and seasonal events that happen in the game.

Holidays and seasonal events automatically happen in the game, if you don't celebrate them, please reach out to me and we can discuss it. Thanks!

Students need to make sure they have everything that they need to participate in the class (i.e. Nintendo Online membership, the game, etc.) and make sure that they know how to go to each other's islands using the airport and a dodo code. You may contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. I'd be happy to help!

During class, we will talk about Animal Crossing. We may talk about different Animal Crossing topics like how to progress in the game, earn bells, get and make DIYs, our dreamies, etc. When we visit each other's islands, each student will be able to do an island tour, if they want to.

We must remember to be respectful on everyone's island. No picking flowers, shaking trees, taking items, or running around unless the student (who's sharing their island) says it's okay. Try not to talk over other students as well. We will only have time to go to one island per class because it takes time for all the students to travel.

The main goal of the class is for students to socialize, make friends, and have fun while playing and learning how to play Animal Crossing.

The students may be muted during class if there is a lot of background noise or if the students are talking when other students or I are talking. So, please make sure that everyone knows how to mute and unmute themselves on Zoom.

Students are encouraged to share their island photos and comments in the online classroom throughout the weeks to talk about what's new and what they are excited about in the game. Students are also welcome to share their friendship codes with each other and with me if they want to.

Note: If I don't have a day or time that works for you, please reach out and I'll see what I can do. Thanks!

If you're wondering what happens in Animal Crossing New Horizons, here's a lovely description that I've written :)

The Fun-Filled World of Animal Crossing: A Whimsical Adventure of Creativity and Relaxation

Introduction
Step into the enchanting realm of Animal Crossing, a beloved video game franchise that has captured the hearts of millions across the globe. Created by Nintendo, Animal Crossing offers players a virtual paradise where they can escape the hustle and bustle of reality and embark on an idyllic journey filled with fun, creativity, and relaxation. In this article, we will explore the delightful activities that players can immerse themselves in while playing Animal Crossing. From fishing in the sparkling rivers to designing dreamy islands, the game's charm lies in its ability to transport players into a whimsical world brimming with possibilities.

Villager Interactions
The heart of Animal Crossing lies in its delightful cast of animal villagers. These charming characters are the backbone of the game, each with their unique personalities and quirks. Players can interact with these villagers, forming friendships and engaging in countless humorous conversations. The camaraderie with these quirky animals is heartwarming, and players often find themselves looking forward to daily interactions, discovering their villagers' interests, and celebrating special events together.

Fishing and Bug Catching
One of the most enjoyable activities in Animal Crossing is fishing and bug catching. Players can explore their virtual landscapes, discovering rivers teeming with fish and forests bustling with critters. Each season brings new fish and bugs to catch, adding an element of excitement and surprise. Whether you're trying to catch the elusive coelacanth or the graceful emperor butterfly, the thrill of landing a rare find is immensely gratifying.

Fossil Hunting and Museum Collection
As an honorary paleontologist, players can explore their islands or travel to distant ones to dig up fossils buried beneath the ground. Once these fossils are collected, players can donate them to the island's museum, curating an impressive and awe-inspiring collection of ancient artifacts. The museum becomes a beautiful testament to the island's history and serves as a delightful educational resource for players and villagers alike.

Island Design and Customization
Animal Crossing grants players unparalleled freedom in designing their dream island paradise. With a plethora of landscaping tools and customization options, players can unleash their creativity to craft breathtaking landscapes, vibrant gardens, and charming villages. Whether you're building a tranquil Zen garden, a bustling urban center, or a whimsical fairytale land, the possibilities are endless, and every island becomes a unique reflection of its creator's imagination.

Seasonal Events and Festivities
Animal Crossing is a game that keeps on giving, with its year-round schedule of seasonal events and festivities. From the vibrant colors of spring's cherry blossom festival to the spooky delights of Halloween and the enchantment of winter's toy day, players are treated to an ever-changing calendar of events. These occasions bring the island and its villagers together, fostering a sense of community and celebration.

Art Gallery and Redd's Treasure Trawler
Art enthusiasts can indulge in the thrill of collecting exquisite artworks from all over the world. Players can visit Redd's Treasure Trawler and acquire paintings and sculptures, which can then be displayed in their island's museum or used to decorate their homes. However, beware of forgeries! Distinguishing genuine artworks from fakes is a challenge that adds an exciting twist to the art-collecting experience.

Island Hopping and Dream Addresses
Animal Crossing allows players to visit other players' islands via online multiplayer or dream addresses. The dream suite offers a fascinating way to explore creatively designed islands without affecting the original owner's progress. This feature fosters a global sense of community, where players can share ideas, exchange gifts, and be inspired by the remarkable designs of fellow islanders worldwide.

Turnip Trading and The Stalk Market
The Stalk Market is a virtual stock market in Animal Crossing, where players can buy and sell turnips at different prices throughout the week. This speculative gameplay adds an element of risk and reward, as players aim to maximize their profits and pay off their in-game loans. Turnip trading has even led to creative player-run communities and bustling online marketplaces.

Celebrations and Island Birthdays
Animal Crossing warmly acknowledges and celebrates its players by hosting island birthdays and anniversaries. Whether it's your own in-game birthday or your island's anniversary, these events are a reminder of the meaningful connections players form with their virtual homes and villagers. The sense of celebration and appreciation contributes to the game's heartwarming and nurturing atmosphere.

Relaxation and Stress Relief
Above all, Animal Crossing stands as a tranquil oasis in the world of gaming. The game's soothing music, gentle gameplay, and charming aesthetics provide players with a therapeutic escape from the stresses of daily life. The act of tending to one's island, interacting with adorable villagers, and exploring a calming world fosters relaxation and a renewed sense of wonder.

Conclusion

Animal Crossing is more than just a video game; it's a delightful escape to a world of endless possibilities, creativity, and camaraderie. From fishing in crystal-clear rivers to customizing a dream island paradise, the game offers a plethora of fun activities to explore. With seasonal events, island hopping, and the joy of building a virtual home, Animal Crossing is an enchanting experience that captures the hearts of players young and old. So, whether you're a seasoned player or a curious newcomer, dive into the whimsical world of Animal Crossing and let its magic unfold. Happy gaming!

My Classes are an accessible introduction to your lifelong artistic journey. I use crayons and butcher paper to teach kids how to love drawing by demonstrating a step-by-step technique that will allow them to draw anything.

Drawing is a fundamental skill that helps children develop a range of abilities, such as observation, creativity, problem-solving and communication skills. It also promotes critical thinking, concentration, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills.

Moreover, drawing is an essential skill that can be applied to other fields, such as architecture, graphic design, animation, and illustration. The early development of these skills can prepare young artists for success in their future careers.

Overall, teaching drawing to young artists is important because it fosters creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking skills, and it can lead to success in various career paths.

I am excited to draw with you!
