Students will have access to the Realm 24/7 and they will be held to a high standard of integrity in regard to respecting other learners' creations and projects or property, griefing will not be tolerated and repeated offenses will result in removal from the class. Dustin will provide guidance and instructions for students who are inspired to delve deeper into Minecraft. The purpose of this access is to allow students to supplement their learning with additional exploration that aligns with their passions and goals. Students may then integrate their learnings into their projects and showcase their accomplishments to their classmates every week. With this approach, our learners may explore the subject independently if they choose to do so. Dustin loves students to share what they’ve explored independently with the class!Class Experience
IMPORTANT: Minecraft Java Edition for PC/Mac Only Not compatible with iPads, tablets, phones, consoles, or Bedrock Edition. This is a Minecraft Java Edition class built for kids who want to go beyond survival mode. In this Creative Mode-only class, students explore advanced Minecraft tools like Redstone, potions, and decorative builds, all within a private, teacher-managed Realm designed for peaceful, structured play. No monsters. No PvP. No chaos. Just creative Minecraft time, real building skills, and a space to learn from one another. Every week, learners are encouraged to collaborate, experiment, and develop skills like: • Building simple and complex machines using Redstone • Crafting and customizing potions • Creating unique banners and pixel-art-inspired builds • Practicing symmetry, storytelling, and design thinking • Respecting shared digital space and working alongside other creative Minecraft fans This is a non-combat, non-competitive environment. We focus on artistry, logic, and teamwork, not on fighting or mining for survival. It is a safe, creative Minecraft studio for kids who want to level up their skills and build something meaningful together. Realm Rules (Set for Safety): • Creative Mode only • No PvP (Player vs Player combat) • No mini-games (Mojang or student created) • TNT disabled • Fire spread disabled • Mob griefing off • Command blocks off • No student will have operator (OP) status All learners play as normal users with full access to Creative Mode tools inside a protected and persistent Realm. WHO THIS CLASS IS FOR: • Minecraft players who love to build, design, and explore • Kids curious about Redstone, potion brewing, and command mechanics • Students who prefer peaceful, structured gameplay • Learners who want to build cool things, not fight monsters A NOTE FOR GROWNUPS: This class is designed to support kids who enjoy Minecraft and want to go deeper with technical, artistic, and collaborative skills. We explore advanced Minecraft features in a calm, inclusive digital space. While this class is not specifically tailored to support unique learning needs, I strive to create a welcoming environment for all learning styles. To participate, learners must share their Minecraft Java Edition username prior to class in order to be added to our private Realm. This is a great class for creative Minecraft kids who want to learn more than just how to play.
Learning Goals
— Collaborate Through Teamwork: Learners are encouraged to work together towards common goals. Students may mine for resources and share their loot or tag-team to defeat enemies in a dungeon.
— Learn Conflict Resolution Skills: As every student is different, they may encounter differing opinions or wants and needs from another student. Dustin is available to help students find common ground during times of emotional stress.
— Build Character and Confidence: Social situations can be difficult to manage in certain situations. My goal is to build students’ confidence and enable them to communicate in a group setting. They will also learn how to self-reflect and take into consideration their and others’ needs.
— Set and Achieve Personal Goals: It’s easy to dream, but it’s harder to achieve! In this class, learners will set goals and learn to take the necessary steps to achieve them. Students are also motivated through social reinforcement by their peers and Dustin!
Activities Include:
— Mining and farming!
— Help guide newcomers!
— Build settlements and houses for our city!
— Create and manage a shop!
— Participate in setting community goals and guidelines!
— Make new Friends!

Parental Guidance
Our number one priority is internet safety, and I want to build a supportive learning environment. I work hard to teach my students about internet safety and the best ways to interact online throughout all of our programs.
Our students frequently form relationships and friendships with other students while enrolled in our programs. While we support healthy online relationships, we also believe it's critical to follow these internet safety guidelines:
— Without first checking with your parents, DO NOT ask others to connect with you online outside of our programs. We provide a secure, controlled environment for learning through our programs, but we are unable to control relationships made outside of the classroom.
— Avoid sharing personal data, such as your name, address, phone number, passwords, location, email address, and parental information.
— If someone asks you for personal information, you should let your parent or a counselor know so they can offer advice.

Supply List
A Minecraft Java Edition account must be purchased and activated by the learner before class starts, it's available here: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft-java-bedrock-edition-pc Enrollees will receive an invitation to our class's private Minecraft Realm where we will build our ideas. To access the server, each learner will need the Java edition of Minecraft and will need to update their version to the latest release. Other Minecraft versions like the "Minecraft for Windows, Dungeons, or Legends Editions", console editions, and pocket editions for mobile devices will not work for this course. ONLY Java Edition for Mac and PC will have access. A pair of headphones and a microphone are also recommended for communication with the class. I would prefer to keep the microphones open in order to support our collaborative and interactive space for creating art. Please help your artist by setting them up in a quiet place away from phone calls, televisions, radios, people chatting, and all the other noisy necessities in our lives… I don't have a place like that in my home, so I use headphones with a noise-cancelling microphone 🎤😊 🎧
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

About Me
Hi, I’m Dustin! I specialize in making art fun, accessible, and confidence-building for young artists ages 5-12. With over 500 glowing five-star reviews, parents consistently praise my patient and encouraging teaching style, while students love the interactive, exciting atmosphere in my classes. My goal is to help every child unlock their creativity and feel proud of their progress.
What Makes My Classes Unique?
My daily drawing classes use simple, kid-friendly materials like crayons and butcher paper, making them perfect for artists of all skill levels. Each session is a fresh adventure, inspired by student suggestions and tailored to their interests. Whether we’re drawing a favorite animal, a superhero, or something from their imagination, every child contributes to the creative journey.
I focus on step-by-step techniques to ensure every student can follow along while fostering creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression. My classes are about more than just drawing—they’re about building skills, confidence, and a lifelong love for art.
Why Families Choose My Classes
Parents and students often tell me my classes stand out because of:
• Engagement and Positivity: My welcoming, lighthearted approach ensures kids feel excited and comfortable.
• Individualized Attention: Even in group settings, I prioritize making every student feel heard, supported, and celebrated.
• Proven Success: Students gain noticeable skills and confidence, which keeps them coming back class after class.

Join Our Creative Community
As a teacher with years of experience, including working with children on the autism spectrum, I know how to make every child feel seen, valued, and capable. Whether your child is a budding artist or simply loves to draw, I’m excited to help them explore their creativity and grow. Together, we’ll create something amazing!
Class Policies
1. Class Length: Classes may occasionally run a few minutes over to allow for individual attention, but they will never end early.
2. Punctuality: Classes start on time. If your learner is late, they can catch up by watching the recording.
3. Attendance: If no students are present, I’ll stay in the classroom for 10 minutes before concluding the session.
4. Classroom Etiquette:
• Students stay muted during the lesson to reduce distractions.
• Siblings may watch, but only enrolled children may participate.
Refunds and Transfers
If you need to reschedule, please submit a transfer request at least 24 hours before the class begins to allow others time to enroll. While I cannot offer refunds for unused or misunderstood coupons, I’m happy to issue a replacement coupon for a future class. Life happens, and I’ll do my best to accommodate you whenever possible!
