Students will learn all about the new sea creatures that are available to be discovered in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Through discussion, slides, pictures and short video clips students will learn fun and fascinating facts about various sea creatures that are now in the game (Northern Hemisphere). Students will learn about various sea creatures and how to enhance their Animal Crossing gaming experience.
No homework will be assigned.
It is helpful if students have played Animal Crossing New Horizons so they can share their thoughts on the creatures they’ve encountered in gameplay.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will not be assessed.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
No parental guidance is needed. If students would like to participate in the sea creature finding competition at the end of class they will need to have a Nintendo online account and they will travel by DODO code. This is done on a class-by-class basis based on student interest and ability to participate. Students can also participate on their own islands if they don't have the online subscription, feel uncomfortable playing online, or if there are technical difficulties. Students might need help getting online about half-way through class, as the online experience can be inconsistent based on the internet connection of all the players participating online (not just your own internet connection).
