Welcome to American Sign Language: Basic Level . This class will be a 30-minute introductory class on American Sign Language (ASL). Students do not need to know ASL prior to attending this class. The class is designed for students ages 7 to 9. Students will learn: *The Alphabet *Numbers 1-20 *Signs associated with meeting new people (Example: What is your name?) *Sign phrases (Examples: I like...I have...I want...etc.) *Family signs (Examples: Mom, Dad, Uncle, Sister, etc.) *Colors *Other...
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn the alphabet, numbers 1-20, and basic introduction phrases in American Sign Language. If time permits, students will also learn the signs for different animals.
I have been a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for 10 years. I have worked with students who use ASL as a primary language and with ASL Interpreters. I took four years of ASL classes in college.
