In this 8-week course, learners will be instructed by a hard-of-hearing individual. This course will cover the basics of ASL, including ABCs, numbers, questions, and so much more. Since this course is going to be more-so focused on the conversational aspects of ASL, it is expected that you have some background knowledge of American Sign Language or have taken both beginners part one and two from myself. The class prior to this is "American Sign Language (ASL) for Beginners (Part Three)" We will be covering: Week 1 / Theme: Review of previous classes in the funnel Week 2 / Theme: Getting started forming sentences (Glossing)! Week 3 / Theme: Getting to know you (simple sentences) Week 4 / Theme: Family, Pets, and Relationships conversations Week 5 / Theme: Descriptors and ways to use them (classifiers) Week 6 / Theme: Daily routine signs (everyday signs) Week 7 / Theme: Name and Community (classifiers, cont.) Week 8 / Theme: Review During class time, we will be introducing ourselves in American Sign language, then go over the course material for the day, ask questions about different signs, and then if there is time we will be able to play games like Kahoot! or Hang Man. In this course, it is important to keep your camera on and be attentive in this class. Since this is a class that will be teaching another language, I will ask all students to turn their cameras on and be present. This is a class that is part of a Multi-Section series, so if you enjoyed this one, come back and take another! Outschool and Classroom Policies: > Please be on time to classes > Messages will be responded to in 24 hours Monday-Friday, however on the weekend I will respond first thing Monday morning > Cameras must be on during class (unless verified)
