This one-time class will explore guinea pig history, breeds, and basic care needs. If your child is a new owner or considering a guinea pig pet, they will discover lots of amazing information and build independent pet care skills.

Class experience

By the end of class students will be able to:
1. Discuss the history of guinea pigs as pets.
2. Discuss the basic food, water, and socialization needs of guinea pigs from their owners.
3. Discuss questions to consider BEFORE getting a guinea pig to know if it is the right pet for you.
4. Practice basic presentation skills with their peers if applicable.
 2 files available upon enrollment
A one-page handout with information and questions to consider will be distributed before class. This will help guide our discussion. Students may want a pencil or pen for notes if they choose.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
If students wish to share a pet guinea pig with their classmates, they may require assistance from the parents. This should be determined by the parent prior to the beginning of class if possible.
