Together we will explore the world of guinea pigs and the basics of their care. We'll begin with a brief history of guinea pigs and discover where they came from. By the end of class students will be able to: 1. Discuss the history of guinea pigs as pets. 2. Discuss the basic food, water, and socialization needs of guinea pigs from their owners. 3. Discuss questions to consider BEFORE getting a guinea pig to know if it is the right pet for you. 4. Practice basic presentation skills with their peers if applicable.
2 files available upon enrollmentA one-page handout with information and questions to consider will be distributed before class. This will help guide our discussion. Students may want a pencil or pen for notes if they choose.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
If students wish to share a pet guinea pig with their classmates, they may require assistance from the parents. This should be determined by the parent prior to the beginning of class if possible.
