Follows Teacher-Created Curriculum
Aligned with Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
With over 10 years of secondary public school teaching experience and a Master of Education in Educational Technology, I am a seasoned educator with a current NC professional teaching license in secondary social studies. My expertise includes developing a student lab at Blue Ridge Community College, where I taught remedial mathematics skills to students transitioning from secondary to post-secondary education, including algebra classes. I have also created remedial algebra courses for the NC Community College system and a HiSET GED eLearning curriculum for high school equivalency students. My diverse background in both technology and teaching equips me to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences in algebra and mathematics.
Homework Offered
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Weekly quizzes provide students with formative feedback throughout the course. A summative pre and post-assessment will provide a quantitative measure of mathematics skill gains at the end of the course.
Grades Offered
Final grade will be composed of the weekly quiz average (80% of total grade) and the summative final assessment at the conclusion of the course (20% of total grade). Grading scale will be 100-90%=A, 89-80%=B, 79-70%=C. Students must retake weekly assessments until quiz average is at 70% or higher.
