OVERALL ======== During first session, student will take an entire year assessment test (e.g., Khan Academy's Get Ready math assessment) to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, I encourage the parent to send me by email the math material/concepts the child is currently struggling to master. I will create a study plan that will include custom curriculum and handouts to help a student with the process of learning. My resources include: • Barron's Common Core Success • Barron's...
To prepare a student to be confident and ready for End of Grade, ISEE, NWEA / MAP, Renaissance / Star, STAAR, SSAT, or math placement exam. To find different (and fun) strategies that make sense to your child that will help them solve math problems on their own.
I love Math! Finding ways to make learning fun and giving strategies to children so they can overcome the challenge of being successful in Math is my passion. I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems so I took college level finite math, algebra, and geometry. While earning my MBA Marketing & Market Research, I successfully completed two semesters of statistics. My work experience includes 10+ years in statistical data analysis as a Market Research Consultant, 10+ years as an ECE educator including math tutoring with K to 6th grade, 10+ years as private math tutor and Sylvan Instructor for 1st to 12th grade students, and tutoring young adults for math portion of SAT, GMAT, and GRE.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
“Kahoot! is a global learning platform company. Kahoot! games can be played anywhere, in person or virtually, using any device with an internet connection.” A Kahoot! game is a quiz with multiple choice answers and the games include topics such as Year End Math Assessment. Kahoot! is a fun way to test a student's knowledge of a math topic such as adding fractions, multiplying decimals, solving for area of a rectangle. Kahoot! app is free and does not require an account. The teacher provides the website link (http://www.kahoot.it) and a game pin then the student creates a silly screen name; thus, no account is needed, and no personal information is given to Kahoot! “Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computing, history, art history, economics, and more, including K-14 and test preparation (SAT, Praxis, LSAT) content. We focus on skill mastery to help learners establish strong foundations, so there's no limit to what they can learn next!” Khan Academy is also a free app and for this class will not require an account. The teacher will share screen of quiz questions, so no account is needed, and no personal information is given to Khan Academy. "At IXL Learning, we are passionate about improving learning for all. We apply technology in thoughtful and innovative ways to unlock students' innate curiosity, creativity, and desire for knowledge. IXL Learning acquired Education.com in 2019. Education.com offers 30,000 digital and printable learning resources, including worksheets, online games, hands-on activities, lesson plans, and more, for preschool through eighth grade." Since IXL and Education.com are paid services, teacher will share screen of her account/worksheets so free to all students.
