Do you want to learn 8th Grade math/Pre-Algebra, but can't commit to live meetings? Then this class is for you! This class is a flexible schedule class, which means there are no live meetings. Students will learn all about exponents, roots, and scientific notation at an 8th grade/Pre-Algebra level through pre-recorded videos, interactive slides, interactive quizzes, games, and discussion posts. - Students will learn exponent rules, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, zero, and negative exponents. - Students will learn how to solve equations with square roots and cube roots. - Students will learn how to read and write using scientific notation. - Students will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using scientific notation.
I am a certified teacher for grades 4-12 math, with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Teaching. I have taught in both private and public schools, have homeschooled students, and I have tutored students in math for the last 8+ years. I want to inspire students to ENJOY math because they UNDERSTAND it. I focus on the WHY behind the math rather than just the HOW. My favorite thing is to take students who "hate" math and change their minds, giving them a confidence they never had before!
