Whether you are new to fifth grade content, or a pro looking for some review, this class is for you! In this ongoing course, students will cycle through the basics of 5th grade math. Each class will be very unique in that the students will 'drive' the instruction based on fifth grade math standards. Lessons will be taught discussion style with plenty of time for students to share their thinking and ideas with others. Here is an example of what 5 weeks of class might look like:

Monday April 24th: place value to the thousandths
Monday May 1st: place value to the thousandths written in expanded form
Monday May 8th: adding and subtracting numbers with decimals to the thousandths
Monday May 15th: adding and subtracting numbers with decimals to the thousandths
Monday May 22nd: multiplying decimals to the hundredths

This class is tailored specifically to the students who sign up and what their strengths and weaknesses are.
