We will be covering the novel, Bud, Not Buddy for 9 weeks. Through reading, we will expand our vocabulary, conventions, personal narratives and knowledge of early American history.

Students will be able to... -Apply grade level English Standard conventions. -Expand their vocabulary and use a dictionary properly. -Make inferences about the text and use textual evidence to support a claim. -Improve their reading rate (Words Per Minute). -Understand tone. -Understand story elements. -Apply knowledge and skills to write creative personal narratives.
I have taught this novel study to 5th grade students in 2023.
Homework Offered
Students will need to read about 5 pages a day during the school week.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will be assessed on their knowledge and skills based on an essay at the end of the semester.Grades Offered
