In this ongoing class, learners will participate in a variety of games that will reinforce facts about the states.

I am a positive and engaging teacher. I will introduce the rules. I will share the ONE state we'll be playing games on. We will read the information sheet that I provided to the learners the day before our class. This will help learners with pronunciation of the material. Learners will be expected to review the page or have it nearby to refer to. Our focus is the GAMES and not the material. The information sheet will include, but not be limited to: state shape, capital, time zone(s), state mammal, fish, tree, bird, insect, flag design, state food, and more. Classes may include the following game sites: joinmyquiz.com nearpod.com https://www.blooket.com/play https://app.peardeck.com/join https://thewordsearch.com/ It may also include Jeopardy games and activities where learners need to Google facts/pictures. This is a fun class for learners to review facts they've learned about ONE state each class. No previous knowledge is needed. I am so excited to be part of Outschool!

I love teaching about so many topics including; animals, social studies/geography, science, life skills, and reading/fluency skills.
I have taught for 14 years in brick and mortar schools and online for 5 years, including 3 years of ESL/ESOL. I am TESOL certified. I have experience with the Orton-Gillingham (OG) reading program and teaching kids with ADHD and Dyslexia. I struggled as a learner so understand that everyone learns differently. I like to get to know my students and what they enjoy learning.
I touch on the various ways we learn by hearing, seeing, doing, and talking about the topics.
I am the proud mom of two older boys, ages 22 and 18. I also love animals and have a CUTE dog named Myles and snake named Harley! (You can meet Harley in my Introduction to Snakes class.)
I live in Arizona and enjoy traveling. I have been to Mexico, Israel, England, and most recently Japan.
