Description
Class Experience
In this class, we will study the history and mythology and legends of Ireland and gain all the benefits of travel from the comfort of our own homes. Students in this class will learn facts about history and culture through the lens of popular myths and legends. Your child will learn to apply concepts from the core subjects of social studies, history, and literature. At the end of the lesson, we will develop critical thinking skills by discussing which character, story, or creature each...
Students will come away from this class with an understanding of how stories shape and are shaped by people and cultures and gain a genuine excitement for storytelling.
I have taught social studies and history as a tutor, substitute teacher, and homeschool teacher, and therefore have experience in covering sensitive topics that involve war/violence in a manner appropriate for children.
5 files available upon enrollmentPlease be sure to print the Ireland stamp and one passport (pick the color of your choice - you only need one!). It is not necessary to have it assembled prior to class time, as this is just for fun. You can add your new stamp to your passport, and sign up for another "Story Explorer" class to collect more!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Since we will be discussing topics like history, mythology, and folklore, there is the occasional mention of war, violence, and death.
