No formal assessment will be conducted. Students will recall one of their favorite facts about each marsupial. At the end of the class, each student will decide which was their favorite to learn about and why. They will write/type/ or verbally state their answer. Written feedback will be sent to each parent/guardian after class.Class Experience

The 5 Marsupials discussed in this class: Kangaroo Kaola Opossum Billby Wombat Each marsupial is discussed on two Google slide pages and 5 interesting / necessary facts are shared with students such as: where they live, where they originate, their weight/size, what makes them unique, and other facts. After learning 5 facts about the marsupials, students will be asked which fact they found the most interesting. At the end of the 30 minute class, students will report which marsupial from our class was their favorite and why. Class structure: Introductions, rules, schedule Introduction to new vocabulary Group interaction Direct instruction Question and Answer Summaries can be done verbally or written via the chatbox Visuals, audio, and/or videos My teaching style is fun, engaging, and student-centered. I enjoy adding animations, pictures, audio, videos and tangible examples for students to remain engaged. I encourage and promote class discussion (both verbally and in the chatbox features) No former knowledge is needed for this class as this is a very brief overview of each of the five marsupials featured. Although marsupial enthusiasts are absolutely welcomed and encouraged to join our discussion and share what they know with our class!

As stated in my bio, I have taught Biology at the high school level- general education, special education, and AP Biology. I am also certified in elementary education which includes all elementary subject matters and a state exam was completed in all subjects to include science. This course does not go into great detail nor touch on sensitive topics, solely highlights 5 facts about 5 different marsupials in order to peak students’ interest on learning and researching more about these magnificent marsupials!
