Class experience
During this 16-week class, we will use the Socratic-style to discuss the four books. If a grade is desired, I will be happy to provide assignments, writing prompts, quizzes, and tests. If you are hesitant about enrolling in the class because you do not have a copy of Animal Farm, please do not worry. I will be reading the first chapter during our first class. Animal Farm, by George Orwell, tells the story of how animals captured the Manor Farm from an incompetent, vicious farmer, changed...
Learners will analyze each novel through discussion, interpretation, and listening to other viewpoints. Learners will examine the use of literary devices, colors, and symbolism to convey the timeless themes of each novel. Learners will discuss the motivations driving each character.
In over 17 years of teaching, I have found that I love reading, discussing, and analyzing what I have read. I love to transfer my passion for reading to others. I have been trained through professional development on ways to handle sensitive topics. Sensitive topics will be treated with respect.
Each learner should have a hard copy of each book. All other assignments will be provided via Google.
