Class Experience

During this course, students will be given direct instruction as well as time to practice test style questions based on the 3rd grade math standards. 
** Students need to know the basic concepts of the 3rd grade math skills as this class focuses on how to answer test style questions using what has been learned in 3rd grade already. ** 
Learning how to answer state assessment type questions is critical for students success. Students will learn how to annotate the questions for important information that will help them answer the question correctly. 

This is an ongoing course that leads up to the 3rd grade Math FSA window. 
You may sign your child up for any topic you feel they need more practice on as the weeks do not build on each other. 
Week of 2/7/2022: Multiplication (3.OA.1.1) & Division (3.OA.1.2)
Week of 2/14/2022: Multiplication/Division word problems (3.OA.1.3) & Multiplication/ Division solve for unknowns (3.OA.1.4, 3.OA.2.6)
Week of 2/15/2022: Properties of Operations (3.OA.2.5) & Two Step Word Problems (3.OA.4.8)
Week of 2/21/2022: Arithmetic Patterns (3.OA.4.9) & Multiply by Multiples of 10 ( 3.NBT.1.3)
Week of 2/28/2022: Rounding (3.NBT.1.1) & Adding and Subtracting writhing 1,000 ( 3.NBT.1.2)
Week of 3/7/2022: Time (3.MD.1.1) & Measuring Liquid Volume and Mass (3.MD.1.2)
Week 3/14/2022: Picture and Bar Graphs (3.MD.2.3) & Line Plots ( 3.MD.2.4)
Week of 3/21/2022: Area Concepts (3.MD.3.5/3.6) & Relate Area to Addition and Multiplication (3.MD.3.7)

A guided student sheet will be provided a day before the class begins and it is highly suggested for it to be printed for your child.

Hi! My name is Emy Delgado and I am a 4th grade grade teacher in Orlando, Florida! I have taught for 8 years, 7 of those have been in 3rd grade :) I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2016 with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I also have endorsement in Reading K- 12, ESOL and Gifted. My passion is developing the love for reading and math within my students. Every school year, I make it my goal for students to love reading by the end of the year. I would say last year I met that goal because my students, as a class, read 6,000,000 words! Yep, you read that right, six million words! I was beyond proud of them and their hard work. I also love to teach cursive to my students! They get so eager to learn a new letter and create sentences! Parents tell me all the time that their child goes home and practices their cursive any opportunity they can get. Math is another passion of mine! I love to teach students multiple strategies on how to solve one single problem. I always tell my students that we all think differently and so we have to find what works best for us.
