US Grade 1
Hello Learners! In this course we will learn or review 1st grade Math skills.

In week one we will go over Addition and Subtraction.
This will include single digit problems and early double digit problems.

In week two we will go over Counting and Place Value.
This will include counting skills such as 5 more and 5 less. Place Value skills will include the ones and tens place.

In week three we will go over Measurement and Time.
This will include measuring items around them (such as books, pencils, etc.). Telling Time skills will include digital and analog clocks, Recognizing the minute hand and hour hand.

In week four we will go over Word Problems and Graphs.
Students will be exposed to key words in word problems to identify if a problem is addition or subtraction. Graphing will include how to set one up, and how to read a graph vertically and horizontally.

Students and parents will receive their math packet when they sign up, and they can print these pages for the first day of class. As a class we will go over each question step by step as I use a white board for the students to follow along to.

During certain problems students will be able to interact with me and with other students during the class. Lego and a box of crayons will be needed for certain problems as well, but are not necessary to complete assignments.

The only previous experience needed is number recognition.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there! My name is Cindy Bono. I have a few class listings that range from how to write a resume for teens, a book club, and Circle Time for Preschoolers.

I have been in the education game for 20+ years now. I was a tutor, PE teacher, after school teacher, preschool teacher, assistant Preschool Director, and I am now a School Nurse. I have taught preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school. I have a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and I a Master's in Child & Adolescent Development.

Learning should be fun. Everyone, no matter the age, learns in multiple ways and at their own pace. I believe that working in small groups helps children and teens understand content better and helps them to have a voice.

A fun fact about me is that I attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and I lived in Las Vegas from 18 years old until 27 years. In 1998, I was one of a handful of women that helped UNLV get sanctioned by the NCAA to have their 1st ever women's soccer team. Also, to help me pay off my tuition, I was a Black Jack Dealer at the Venetian and MGM.
