1:1 Private Reading/Writing Tutoring with Ms. Jessica!

In this weekly 1:1 tutoring session, I will work with your child on the reading or writing skills they need help with. I can provide the material or your child can bring homework from school - it’s your choice! ESL students welcome, too!

Join me, Ms. Jessica, for private reading or writing tutoring in this 30-minute one-on-one tutoring session!  I have over 10 years of experience teaching reading and writing to children from first grade through fourth grade.  Before class (preferably at least 12-24 hours beforehand), please message me and let me know what area of reading or writing your child is working on.  We can focus on skills ranging from phonics and fluency to reading comprehension and summarizing, as well as paragraph writing, essay writing, and more!  Please let me know if you have material you would like me to work on with your child, or if you want me to provide course materials.  This tutoring session will be personalized for your child, so it is perfect for students of all  levels and abilities.  I can also create a section for twice per week tutoring, if needed.  I look forward to seeing your child in the classroom!

Supply List

Students should come to class with paper and a pencil, as well as any work that they would like help with (for example, homework from school or another class).

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello! My name is Jessica McGinn and I am so excited to meet your child!  I graduated in 2008 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and I hold an Elementary Ed teaching certificate in the state of Florida. I have 10 years of experience as a classroom teacher, where I have taught first through fourth grade. I have also taught English online to children age 4 to 14! I am passionate about teaching and about learning, and I especially love to teach reading!

I believe that all children CAN love to read. Some just haven’t found the right book yet! I hope to inspire children to want to read more, all while teaching them important reading comprehension and writing skills.

I live in sunny Florida with my husband, my two daughters, Ella and Ruthie and our dog, Buddy.

I am so excited to be teaching with Outschool. See you in the classroom!
