During these 50 minute 1 on 1 online tutoring sessions, the learner and I will be working together to master math topics presented to the learner during her/his math course at school. During this course, participants in this course will: 1. Complete assigned math homework 2. Increase basic calculation speed 3. Gain a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts 4. Be able to interpret text and translate it into math expressions
Bachelor's degree in physics and astrophysics with a minor and mathematics Masters in Math and Science Education NM Level 3 Teaching License 17 years of teaching mathematics at a nationally ranked high school charter school Experience working with students from middle school up to university level Recipient of Teacher of the Year Awards from organizations such as Sigma Xi Creator of video solutions for Mathspace
Math homework assigned by the learner's school math class Any textbooks that are used in the learner's school math class Writing utensils Paper for documenting work Calculator (if permitted by the learner's school math class)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
As appropriate we may use online tools such as GeoGebra.org to help provide additional contextualization, visualization, practice, review, etc.
