Upon successful completion of our Intermediate Level 1 Chess Course, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Proficiency, acknowledging their advanced understanding of chess strategies, tactics, and techniques, and demonstrating their ability to apply these skills in competitive play.Class Experience

Intermediate Level
This 10-week intermediate chess program delves into advanced concepts and methodologies, including pawn configuration, optimal piece positioning, tactical maneuvers, and strategic trade-offs. Each weekly lesson focuses on a specific theme, exploring nuanced techniques for improving gameplay. Instruction combines expert lectures, guided games, puzzles, and group discussions, fostering dynamic learning and direct interaction with the instructor. The teaching approach emphasizes collaborative guidance, with ample opportunities for inquiry and feedback, ensuring learners receive tailored support and mentorship.

Pawn Power: Chains and Isolation
Understand how to create pawn chains, manage isolated pawns, and control key squares. Improve your strategic play and endgame skills with effective pawn management. 50 mins online live lesson

Mate in 2: A Tactical Masterclass
Develop your attacking skills, learning how to deliver checkmate in two moves and execute discovered attacks. Improve your tactical awareness and combination skills. 50 mins online live lesson

Learning Needs
Our chess class is intentionally designed to support unique learning needs, such as ADHD, Dyslexia, and ASD, by incorporating visual, tactile, and kinesthetic learning approaches, flexible pacing, and one-on-one attention.
Parental Guidance
To maintain privacy, we utilize the anonymous gameplay feature on Lichess for all chess play activities.
Pre-Requisites
Basic chess knowledge, understanding of pieces, movements & objectives. Completion of beginner's chess course or equivalent experience (approx. 6-12 months of casual play)."
Supply List
For a seamless and secure learning experience, we will utilize LICHESS.ORG for interactive gameplay. To ensure learner anonymity and safety, we will provide anonymous access links, eliminating the need for account creation."
