Class experience
This course is an ongoing class and individual lessons don't build up on one another. However, the layout of each class is more or less the same. To give you an idea of what your student is learning, I'm giving you a generic lay-out, as well as specific topics planned for the first 4 weeks. First off, academic instruction is paired with interactive exercises and role-play to enhance the learning experience and to stimulate students of varying learning styles. Secondly, each week instruction...
Students will improve their understanding of more complex grammar concepts, such as the use of the dative and accusative cases, separable verbs, reflexive verbs, the use of prefixes for nouns, the various time tenses (present, future, past) and more. They will also deepen their language fluency through learning, rehearsing and applying German vocabulary.
Hallo und Guten Tag! My name is Sandra Miller and I am a native German speaker. Germany has 16 “states”, in German: Bundesländer. The one I come from is Sachsen, which is known in English as Saxony. I am proud to call the capital Dresden my German home. Look it up, if you’d like - it is world-known for its art, history and beauty. After graduating from the University of Heidelberg with a Master's in Interpretation for German / Russian / Italian, I emigrated to the US in 1999 to marry my husband of 24 years. Together we have 3 daughters between the ages of 13-21. Before my employment as a language teacher, I volunteered for several years in various children's programs such as "Kids Hope USA". I also honed my artistic skills as a face painter. I started working as a teacher at a private German language school in 2017 and have been teaching classes there ever since. In addition, I have been teaching private online lessons for German, Italian and Russian over the course of the past 6 years.
Homework Offered
It is expected that students will study and practice the vocabulary list and study the grammar unit after each lesson and before heading into the next one. However, with this being an ongoing class and students having the chance to come and go, I will not check on the specific assignments, rather provide the material and encourage their independence on this.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Grades Offered
Basic knowledge of German vocabulary and grammar is required to take this class. For those familiar with the international language proficiency levels, this would be the equivalent to the ÖSD (Austria, Switzerland, Germany) A2.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
For the interactive application time (German vocabulary), I will be using games I design myself through baamboozle.com. Since I as the teacher am in charge of designing them both for specific vocabulary, as well as images to go with the words, there won't be any upsetting or scary content. Games are fit for young students and include "Snakes and Ladders", "Four in a row", "Tic, tac, toe", "Memory" or the likes. Your student will not need an account to play in class. Feel free to ask me any additional questions you might still have.
I will use either Google Docs or a Canva slide show for the academic part and Baamboozle for the digital game part.
