OC stands for Original Character. An OC is often referring to a minor character in an existing canon whose role is being expanded by a fan-fiction writer or a completely new character who exists in a published canon. Wings of Fire and Warrior Cats are some of the more common OC's that my students create. But, Dragons and Cats aren't the only characters we may wish to create storylines about! Since everyone has different skill sets to share, we will have templates available to help with he design process and writing prompts to help with backstory. I use Digital Art and All Traditional Art Mediums, so I am able to assist if a student gets "stuck". It's fun turning our artwork and storylines into mini graphic novels too! Canva is free resource, which students may use for this. Google Docs is a great way for us to share our writing and add to the stories. Outschool Groups do not have set class times. It's a workspace with Teacher moderation.

"Wings of Fire" and "Warrior Cats" both have violence and trauma. Although these are both children's book series' about Dragons and Cats, there is a fair amount of violence and death.

Hi There!
I'm Lori...a graduate of F.I.T in NYC. I've worked in different areas of the design industry since 1991, from illustration, pattern making, garment construction to designing full story boards for buyers. I tutored Fashion Illustration for a few years to help other students complete their professional portfolios before their interviews. Besides getting creative, I LOVE animals! I have quite a few furry little beasts. Right now, my profession is Graphic Design, but fashion illustration and design is still what I do when I need to unwind from technology. I believe that once you learn the basics of how to get that creativity out of your mind and onto paper, you open up a whole new world, being able to share and build on your talents.
