This second photography Class will help students to build upon the basic skills to more advanced concepts using Manual Modes (Youth Photography 101 - Intro Class is suggested, but not required). Focus: Week One: Manual Settings - understanding manual settings and the Exposure Triangle - adjusting the depth of field - Photograph Series Week Two: Nighttime Photography - discovering how to use manual settings for Nighttime and Light Painting Photography Week Three: Semi-Automatic Modes - adjusting the settings while utilizing Program-mode, Aperture Priority Mode, and Shutter Priority Mode - How to Blur/Stop Motion and Panning the Action Week Four: Evaluation - this Class is designated specifically for respectful Peer-to-Peer Evaluations in order to improve Each weekly Class meeting, students need to be prepared to share their best representation of out-of-Class Assignment photographs in order to gain feedback. Students will have weekly out-of-Class Assignments in order to put in to practice learned techniques and concepts to develop their skills through the course of the Class. Students need to have a working knowledge of their own cameras, memory card, printer. Students will learn to: make decisions and recall basic principles obtain and validate outcomes communicate non-verbal messages think creatively and actively pursue creative expression demonstrate creative thinking processes while problem solving recognize patterns and relationships apply principles to procedure reason and application of skills to problem solve interpret information communicate make decisions interpret data predict outcomes based on prior knowledge problem-solve - adjust plans - formulate new approaches present information validate creativity The US National Education Standards applied within my Class: NA-VA.K-4.1: Understanding and Applying Media, Techniques, and Processes NA-VA.K-4.2: Using Knowledge of Structures and Functions NA-VA.K-4.3: Choosing and Evaluating a Range of Subject Matter, Symbols, and Ideas NA-VA.K-4.5: Reflecting Upon and Assessing the Characteristics and Merits of Own Work and the Work of Others NA-VA.5-8.1: Understanding and Applying Media, Techniques, and Processes NA-VA.5-8.3: Choosing and Evaluating a Range of Subject Matter, Symbols, and Ideas

Hello. I began my teaching career as a Highschool Student in 1987 as a State Certified Preschool Teacher. I attended USF (University of South Florida) in Tampa, FL and earned my Bachelor's Degree, cum laude, in Elementary Ed grades 1-6. I added two additional Certifications: English grades 6-12 and PreK-Primary (age 3 to grade 3). I am currently waiting for my Autism Endorsement to process through the DoE.
**I am very proud to say Outschool informed me Fall 2019 that I was the first to be approved for an Autism Social Club - I am honored to be a part of your child’s life**
I currently teach 1st grade in a small private school. Previously, I was a Lead VPK (Voluntary PreK) Teacher and have taught various grade levels in Preschools, Public and Private Schools from age 2 years old on up into high school with our own boys in our Home School Program. I've earned "Highly Effective" in all areas and love teaching.
I Homeschooled for 22 years - and even taught at public school, then VPK at a private school as I continued our Home School. Over the years, I have volunteered for our state-wide Homeschool Association and sat on our County School Board Homeschool Portfolio Review Committee. I pride myself on searching for ways to accommodate and adjust as needed to learner styles. I enjoy assisting families in their education decisions. I am special needs sensitive in the areas of ASD, TS, ADHD, and Gifted. Not only have I taught those with these diverse challenges in my classroom settings, but I am also parenting my own children who have them as well. Our Family is walking through a new Season with the passing of our Precious young son (Jan 2021).
Interesting facts about our Family: we have three SPCA rescued cats and enjoy playing Tennis and watching movies in our backyard home theatre :)
