Unravel the mystery of knitting in this one time class. Knitting is a pleasurable, practical and pretty skill to have. Learners will learn about the different types of knitting needles and which are best to use for a given project. Learners will learn about the different types of yarn and which is best to use for a given project. Learners will learn how to create a slip knot. Learners will learn how to hold the needles and yarn in a way that works for their comfort. Learners will learn how to cast on, knit, purl and cast off. Learners will be given a pattern to follow and will learn how to read a simple knitting pattern. I will demonstrate each step for the students. Questions are encouraged. Knitting is a social activity! Students are encouraged to socialize. Knitting is not just for girls! Think of it as a productive, creative type of fidget spinner ;).

1 Skein of yarn (a medium or "bulky", non-fuzzy, cotton or acrylic will be best) 1 set of knitting needles. The label on the skein of yarn will tell you what size needle will work best with the yarn you've chosen.
