Persuasive writing can be a fun and exciting genre for young learners to find a passion and purpose for writing. It is one of my favorites to study, and the pleasure I get from teaching this genre makes for an enjoyable class. During day one, we choose a topic from a list of ready-to-go, high-interest persuasive topics for ages 8-12. Your young writer may also choose their own topic before or during the first class. I spent over 20 years in the upper elementary classroom and specialized in teaching language arts for ten years. I also have ten years of private tutoring experience and have tutored online since 2020.
