This ongoing class is intended for learners that have completed my Second Grade Super Skills Course, or are in their 2nd/3rd grade year. Learners may join at any time, based on skills they are interested in strengthening. Students will learn multiple mental strategies to implement so that they leave the course with the confidence to tackle any problem. Addition Strategies Include: - Doubles/Near Doubles - Making Tens - Making Landmark or Friendly Numbers - Breaking Each Number into its Place Value - Adding Up in Chunks Subtraction Strategies Include: - Adding Up - Removal - Place Value - Adjusting Multiplication Strategies Include: - Repeated Addition/Skip Counting - Making Landmark or Friendly Numbers - Partial Products - Doubling and Halving - Breaking Factors into Smaller Factors
