課堂經歷

Students identifying as female will be taught how to recognize when they cannot concentrate and a few techniques to help calm their minds so that they can return to their tasks.  This will be through gentle yoga poses, breathwork and self-talk.  In our class community, I will demonstrate and model the practices, offering gentle corrections and redirections when needed.  I have used these techniques to help my own busy mind and with my students in yoga and in the classroom.
Students do not need any experience but should realize that a busy mind sometimes keeps them from being successful in school and in life.

I will refer to the fact that learners with ADHD, Autism and other neurodivergent learning styles (diagnosed or not) may have a tendency to feel that their minds are very full and active - and that they can learn to live with and love this part of themselves.

A one-page resource sheet will be provided at the end of class.
Girls should bring either 1-2 yoga blankets, towels or regular blankets.  If she has a yoga mat she can use that, too.

I teach secondary students with learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD, as well as, yoga to students middle school through adult.  I have MAs in Special Education and School Counseling, an Ed.D. in Educational Psychology and am a 200 hour Certified Yoga Teacher.  I love to share my passion in these areas with students of all ages!
