During this one-time session, learners will be provided with engaging content on utilizing figurative language to enhance their writing. Throughout this session, students can expect direct teaching, collaboration with peers, and application of learning through multiple methods. As an instructor, my goal is to maintain a fast pace to ensure learners do not become disengaged. We aim for learning in a fun and motivated manner.

Students will learn six types of figurative language: idioms, metaphors, personification, hyperbole, alliteration, and similes. Writers will explore utilizing idioms to make their writing more engaging and fun.

Hello! I am Melisa. Teaching is my absolute joy! The last 25 years have been spent working with children, teachers, and pre-service teachers. Currently, I serve as a principal in an elementary school in Delaware. I'm extremely excited to get back into the classroom by working with students on OUTSCHOOL! I am certified to teach general and special education and look forward to utilizing my skills in a new way!
It is my belief that learning should be fun and engaging. My goal is to help all learners grow by exploring learning with a growth-minded approach.
