LEARNING GOALS. Student writers will come to... 
• understand that writing improves when writers write... often
• recognize that good writing comes from reading... a lot
• feel comfortable enough to share their work, empowered and supported by their peers
• develop their own individual voice through their creative writing endeavors
• explore various writing techniques, and develop skills through pre-writing, editing, and re-writing
• witness the power of sharing, which will include read-alouds to share ideas and passages with the larger group. Student authors will be asked to evaluate their own work and the work of others.

As a published author and experienced teacher of reading and writing, Mr. LeCara is thrilled to provide opportunities for exploring the human experience through the written word.

Understanding how busy everyone is with school, student authors are encouraged to write when they can.

OPTIONAL: Student skill sheets, related to the month's story element focus, will be posted for students to work through.  These are not assignments.
