* This class is mainly for middle schoolers who need basic writing skills. It is a great foundation for any of my other writing classes. Students will write non-fiction about "strange" animals for 5 days in a row, using the IEW method. No previous experience is necessary. We begin by taking notes, then students rewrite and create a paragraph. This works for everyone, but is a great help to dyslexic students and struggling writers because it gives them structure. Students will learn to take accurate notes, and then to rewrite the information in their own way. Students will edit and write over an extended time period. Students will gain confidence in presenting their work aloud.
