The topics for this class will be a more gentle approach to feminism than the teen section of this class, keeping concepts simple and eliminating as much sensitive terminology as possible (for example, in the teen section I may explain there was legislation for birth control pills in the 1960s, but in this section I would say "laws were written in place to allow women to choose if having a family was something they wanted to do or not). We will be discussing the idea of reproductive rights and women not being ashamed of what their bodies can do, sexism, rape culture (limiting the word rape), patriarchal structures in society, and watching videos that depict outdated or harmful stereotypes about women.
