What would a tree say if it could talk?  Would people think differently if they could experience the wisdom of an old Oak Tree? In this book adventure, we will explore one of  NY Times bestselling children's novel "Wish Tree" by Katherine Applegate.  This adventure will have your students looking for "golden lines", creating hands-on projects, sharing thoughts, and entering critical thinking skills in live class discussions.  Students will need their own copy of the book, a great imagination, and a sense of humor.  

Question and answer time will be facilitated at every meeting and students are encouraged to participate in the live book discussion.  Each week a reading portion will be assigned.   Students will keep a Wish Tree notebook to record vocabulary words with definitions, answer the question of the week, and record golden lines.  Hands-on related projects will also be assigned for homework.
