In this one-time class, I will read Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster, a social/emotional picture book that helps us discuss how worries and fears can stop us from trying new things. In a relaxed and fun atmosphere, we will talk about how to overcome these fears, but also what we can do when some of the things we are scared of actually do happen - like when we try something new and we aren't very good at it. We'll learn about shifting our mindsets to focus on positives in any situation...
Teach a growth mindset and teach how what we focus on helps us create the outcomes we want and how to deal with thigs that don't turn out exactly how we'd like.
Drawing paper, pencils, crayons or markers. I will also send a PDF template for help with drawing the Whatif Monster that we will go over in class.
I will be reading from the book, Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster that I have written and illustrated. It is not necessary for the course, but if you'd like to purchase it, you can get it at my website, MNScreative.com
