課堂經歷
What do you think of when you think of a map? Does it tell you how to get someplace? Does it tell you pollution levels? Does it tell you what people lived in that location hundreds of years ago? Every map is made with a purpose, to analyze a certain type of information. These maps can be useful in describing specific issues in specific places, or even tell some kind of story. Each week, we will look at a particular type of map using a specific city, country, or region as an up-close...
Students will use geographic vocabulary. Students will use maps for varying purposes. Students will draw conclusions based on maps. Students will analyze information to determine meaning/historical impact about a place. Students will present their maps and describe their choices.

Student will need to create maps; this could be done digitally using basic software like MS paint (or something more complex if they like), or simply printing out maps from Google or Wikipedia and drawing renderings of specific types of map using any art materials they prefer.
學習者無需使用標準 Outschool 工具以外的任何應用程式或網站。
This class will discuss climate change as well as war/conflicts in regards to the shaping of the world.
National Geographic and the New York Times are resources for this class. I may provide articles for optional reading.
