課堂經歷
Bring your creative side and your Zelda knowledge, and let's create together! We're going to open by working out a Zelda-themed math problem together (applying an age-appropriate math concept). Then, let's get creative by drawing, building with Legos, sculpting with clay, putting together a perler / hama bead design, painting -- it's your choice. As we create, the students can discuss their ups and downs of playing (or watching someone else play) their favorite Zelda game. (My current favorite is Breath of the Wild, but I've also played Age of Calamity, Ocarina of Time, Link Between Worlds, Link to the Past, and Majora's Mask.) This club originally started as 100% Legos, but we're going to branch out and let the learners build new adventures by using different media. Here are some ideas of what you could bring to create with in class: - Legos - other types of building blocks or materials (K'nex? Magnatiles?) - clay or play dough - perler / hama beads - paper and pencils / markers / crayons for drawing - paints - paper, scissors, and tape for cutting and building - another creative medium that I haven't thought of yet I look forward to meeting you soon -- let's connect through common interests and make new friends! Weekly math topics: (After these topics, if my schedule permits, I will add more dates and add new topics. We will not cycle back to previous activities.) June 2: multiplying and adding numbers up to 100 June 9: subtracting numbers up to 50 June 16: word form of numbers up to 1000 June 23: place value up to 1,000,000 June 30: rounding numbers up to 100 July 7: comparing numbers up to 10,000 July 14: finding area with multiplication July 21: finding perimeter with addition July 28: multiplying by 10 The math activities are aimed at being mostly reinforcement and how to use a math concept, and depending on the learners, we can scale back to review underlying concepts, or we can stretch a bit to learn something new.
學習目標
- Students will use imagination to create using their preferred medium
