Welcome to Watercolor Wonderland; an appropriate class for beginning to intermediate painters. Subject difficulty can be adjusted per student. This course will show you tools to improve your painting technique, while using materials of your own making. Fruits, old markers, food coloring and scrap construction paper are just a few of the materials we will be making paint out of. All participants will need access to some clean water, various cups, dishes or palette, and a watercolor brush and...
Students will learn how to paint successfully with watercolors they have created themselves. This class includes some visual thinking strategies, exposure to famous art works of history, and has some elements of social justice work through eco-friendly materials. Additionally, students will be able to identify the differences between impression and Abstract painting, as well as key masterworks.
Clean water. White copy or watercolor paper. Paint brush and or q-tips. For paint: various cups/ containers. Any and all of the following: old markers, food coloring, boiled or canned beets, blueberries, broken chalk, old makeup (no nail polish!), used construction paper of any color. Pro tip: have some paper towels or small cloth towels handy for blotting, or accidental spills
